OPTICAL ILLUSION DEFIES REALITY

Created in Paris by Francois Abenalet, this ingenious sidewalk installation goes beyond the usual chalk drawings by incorporating actual grass and trees.  It's a classic example of anamorphosis -- a distorted image that only takes its "proper" form when viewed from exactly the right angle.

WORLD'S SCARIEST FOOD

Think you're fearless about food? These international delicacies go beyond trendy nose-to-tail eating and push the boundaries of adventurous eating: Piles of spiders deep-fried in garlic and spices; raw eggs cured for months until they reach a reeking, gelatinous state; fried or grilled newborn mice served with a spicy dipping sauce—and more.

THE WORLD'S CRAZIEST BASKETBALL COURT

There is a basketball court in Germany that is about to blow your mind. We're not sure, outside of displaying one's artistic integrity, why someone would choose to make a 3D-styled basketball court featuring lumps and lamps and all sorts of weirdness, but we do appreciate the results. Because it gives us an excuse to wonder what it would be like to play basketball on a court like this:
